Alaina Anderson is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at William Blair & Company. Alaina joined William Blair in 2006 as a Research Analyst on the Global Equities team and has over a decade of experience covering stocks globally. She is currently a Portfolio Manager for William Blair's International Leaders and International Leaders ADR strategies as well as the recently launched New Energy Opportunities strategy, which is focused on investing in the energy transition globally. In addition to her portfolio management responsibilities, Alaina is intimately involved in creating and publishing investment insights for William Blair's institutional clients as well as client retention and business development activities. Alaina is the former president of the Chicago Booth School of Business Black Alumni Association, and a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow from the class of 2014. In 2021, Alaina was appointed by the Governor to the board of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), where she is a proud alum and currently sits as Vice-Chair. She is also on the board of The Harris Theater for Music and Dance. At William Blair, Alaina serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Investment Committee. Alaina graduated from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics and earned her M.B.A. from Chicago Booth School of Business. She is member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of Chicago.
