Joy is a Senior Managing Director at Nuveen, a TIAA company, leading the Global Sales & Advisor Development platform. A 27-year veteran of the firm, she sets the strategic direction for client facing associates’ skill development and the advisor education thought leadership for 3rd party distribution. As a member of the Nuveen Leadership Team, she serves as a key enterprise leader responsible for executing the firms’ initiatives and taking accountability for business results. Following her passion for financial literacy, Joy has participated in several economic development panels with leading CEOs and CIOs across the industry. She was most recently quoted in leading publications including Financial Advisor magazine, Insurance News Net and Financial Planning.com for her team’s work on generational wealth transfer research. She is series 7, 66 and 24 licensed, holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation and completed several executive leadership certifications through Harvard Business School.

Prior to this role, she held several leadership positions in the Global Private Client group, Organizational & Educational Development and the Distribution teams. Joy has been very focused on leading, connecting and developing personal and professional growth for women in the asset management profession. She joined Nuveen in 1997 after holding positions at CHAC as a housing specialist and Goldman Sachs in the Global Security Services Division.

Joy is on the board of the All-Stars Project Chicago, chair of Women Investment Professionals advisory council, founding member of two business resources groups at TIAA and two time diverse leader of the year award. She is Nuveen’s Global Senior Sponsor for the firm’s partnership with Black Women in Asset Management. Joy has served as the facilitator of several small group sessions on financial literacy and wellness for over 10 years. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
