Paula has decades of private equity and consulting experience working with highly-motivated extraordinary entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities.  She is also an expert in developing and deploying targeted investment funds, having helped create funds in London England, the City of Oakland, the States Connecticut and California, and for the US Small Business Administration.   She is currently the Chief Investment Officer of  Impact X Capital, a London-based venture capital fund investing in European underrepresented communities of technology and creative professionals.   

Paula recently disbursed over $30 million of loan and grant funds in California for the Cities of Oakland,  Los Angeles, Sacramento and the County of Mendocino to launch sustainable businesses led by economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. Previously, Paula was a Senior Vice President at Main Street Launch a non-profit lender based in Oakland CA and Paula also ran the Alameda County Small Business Development Center delivering small business consulting services and to Bay Area nine cities.  Paula has also spent time in the charter school industry at Making Waves Foundation.

Earlier in her career, Paula was co-founding partner of Axxon Capital, a venture capital firm based in Boston, MA that invested in technology-oriented companies led by underrepresented entrepreneurs. Axxon Capital was a spin-out from Triumph Capital, a private equity firm where Paula served as partner and helped grow assets under management from zero to over $800 million. She has also worked on Wall Street for Credit Suisse First Boston, in advertising for Leo Burnett and in Hollywood for 20th Century Fox Film.

Paula has a BA from Stanford University an MBA from Harvard Business School.
