Vona Aghoghovbia-Ezichi

Managing Director and Head of Finance Europe & APAC, Nuveen

Vona is a strategic business leader with 19+ years’ experience covering the asset management and real estate industry. Her extensive background in Audit, Assurance, Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) provides her the ability to deliver strategic insight that generates sustainable growth.

She is a Managing Director, Head of Finance for EMEA and APAC at Nuveen, a TIAA company; a Global Investment Manager with $1.2T invested across many asset classes. Vona oversees Corporate Finance & Tax activities ensuring the integrity and governance over reporting and providing strategic solutions to help Nuveen make an enduring impact on our world.

Before joining Nuveen, she worked with JLL, as Working Capital Strategy Director, Global Director of Accounting and Head of Risk Management & Compliance.

She is a Chartered Accountant, a GRC Professional and has served on governance boards partnering with executives to develop strategies, oversee risk management practices and improve performance and increase stakeholder value.

She started her professional career in Financial Services Audit with KPMG and BNP Paribas. She holds a BSc in Accounting & Management from the University of Bristol and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales.

Vona serves on the trustee board of a charitable company and University of Bristol Alumni Association Committee. She is co-chair of Nuveen’s Working Parents Group and Senior Sponsor for the firm’s partnership with Black Women in Asset Management. She has a passion for family, strong values, ethical thinking & conduct, risk awareness & compliance. She champions the creation of inclusive environments in organisations, shattering the glass ceiling and inspiring people to flourish, take up space and be their authentic self. She is the co-founder of DVees; a family luxury food & drink company.
